View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through the Al Dhafra sands during the party's journey to Baynunah. In the central foreground one of Wilfred Thesiger's Rashid Bedouin companions leads a laden camel across a stretch of flat sand dotted with a few bushes. In the left distance another member of the party stands with his camel atop a long, low ridge of bare sand, beyond which rolling dunes continue into the far horizon below a cloudless sky. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
