Description
Close up profile portrait of Huaishil, one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, in the region surrounding Al Ain / Buraimi Oasis. Huaishil, a sheikh of the Mahamid lineage of Duru Bedouin, faces towards the right. He is squinting into the sun and his mouth is open. He wears a light coloured thobe (shirt) and an embroidered headscarf.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
