Description
Seated group portrait of three of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's Bedouin retainers in Al Ain. Each of the three men wears a headscarf (ghutra) and a light coloured thobe (long shirt). The two men on the right each have a camel stick. The background behind the men is a flat plain of rocky sand. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
