Description

View of Wilfred Thesiger's party riding through the Al Qafa' or As Saruq region north of Liwa oasis. Two members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, ride across an expanse of sand dotted with small tufts of vegetation next to a long ridge of dunes. A tethered baggage camel follows each man's mount. Behind the men is an area of low dunes with softly rolling ridges.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
