Description
View of desert landscape in Al Humrah sands, taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey to Umm az Zumul. In the foreground a few tall bushes and clumps of vegetation grow on the side of a sand dune rippled with waves of secondary dunes. In the central distance a chain of dunes rises into a long steep crest in the central distance. Nearby two of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin companions walk to the right of the dunes. In the far distance beyond, rolling dunes stretch towards the far horizon below a cloudless sky.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
