View of a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party standing in the Al Batin sands during their journey from Al Dhafra sands to Liwa oasis. The man, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, stands on the crest of a dune. He rests a rifle on his shoulder and is holding camel stick in his other hand. A vast expanse of wind-rippled dunes, dotted with a few rare shrubs, spreads out across the distance before him.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
