Description

View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party riding through the Al Qafa' or As Saruq region north of Liwa oasis. Two members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, ride camels through low, crescent-shaped dunes. Each man is followed by a baggage camel which is tethered behind his mount. The sands surrounding the men are mostly bare, aside from a few sparse tufts of vegetation.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
