Description

Group portrait of Wilfred Thesiger with three men of his party at the village of Ghayl bin Yumayn. Wilfred Thesiger (front left) crouches beside Muhammad Al Auf (front right), a tribesman of the Bayt Mbarik lineage of Rashid Bedouin. At the back right stands Salim bin Kabina, a young tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, with another man on the left. Behind the men the rest of the party is sitting, and assorted camping equipment can be seen in the background beside the trunk of a large tree.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
