Description
Standing three-quarter length portrait of Mahalhal bin 'Ati, one of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin guides, in the Wadi al 'Ayn. Mahalhal bin 'Ati, a tribesman of the Al Khamis lineage of Awamir Bedouin, stands in the foreground, holding on to a bare tree branch with one hand. He wears a light thobe (shirt) tied in a knot around his waist, below which a second dark thobe can be seen. In the distance behind him trees grow on a flat plain.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
