View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking across a sand dune between oases in Liwa oasis. Footprints lead from the near foreground to where two of Wilfred Thesiger's Rashid Bedouin companions lead a camel up a gently rolling sand dune in the central distance. Small secondary dunes create waves across the dune's surface, which is entirely bare of vegetation. In the distance beyond sand dunes rise in rolling ridges towards a far crest below a hazy sky. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
