Description

Seated portrait of Wilfred Thesiger wearing Arab dress in Dubai. Wilfred Thesiger sits in a patio chair on the rooftop terrace of a house in Dubai, facing towards the far right. He wears a khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt and suspenders over his light coloured thobe (shirt) and a ghutra (headscarf) topped with an 'agal (head rope). Behind is a balcony fence made of carved wood.
