Description
View of one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides in a valley on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] mountain. A man wearing a thobe (long shirt) and ghutra (headscarf) stands in a dry riverbed in a rocky valley. In the distance limestone walls rise on either side of the narrow valley. Mostly leafless trees and shrubs grow in the rocky soil along the valley floor. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
