View of Musallim bin Al Kamam, a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, in Al Dhafra or Baynunah sands. A pile of gear lies in the sand near to a large dry bush. Behind the gear Musallim bin Al Kamam, a sheikh of the Musaifar lineage of Rashid Bedouin, stands holding a camel halter in his hands. Just to the right a camel is grazing, its front legs hobbled. In the distance sparse vegetation and a few large bushes grow on small dunes that continue across the background into the far horizon. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
