View of Wilfred Thesiger's party at a well south-west of Al Ain during their journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis. In the near distance a number of camels crowd in front of two men at the centre, one of whom is holding a leather water bucket. A few men wait close by, two standing and a third seated at the centre, while the camels are watered. The man on the far right wears only a wraparound skirt and has a number of items of clothing spread out in the sand in front of him. Behind them a sand dune dotted with clumps of vegetation fills the background. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
