Half length portrait of two Arab men in front of a rock wall in Dubai. The older man on the left wears a ceremonial bisht (robe) over his waistcoat and thobe (ankle-length shirt). The man on the right wears a waistcoat and a khanjar (dagger) in a scabbard over his thobe. Each man also wears a ghutra (headscarf). This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 10-18, 1948 stay in Sharjah and Dubai.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
