View of one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides standing at their campsite below Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] mountain. In the foreground a man in an thobe (long shirt), and ghutra (headscarf) stands on a rock strewn flat, looking towards the high rock cliffs of Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit]. Camp equipment and blankets are scattered across the ground in front of him. In the distance high jagged limestone cliffs rise above a flat dotted with sparse vegetation. The cliffs slope across the far distance from high on the left to low at the far right. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.
