View of Wilfred Thesiger's party camped on a sand dune in Al Khatam or Al Humrah sands south of Al Ain. In the near right distance Salim bin Kabina, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, pulls on the head rope of a camel standing in the middle of the camp amongst scattered piles of gear. Behind him Muhammad bin Al Jabari, a tribesman of the Awamir Bedouin, walks towards the far right. At the far left another member of the party rests in the sand beside a camel. In the background a low dune rises behind the men, on which scattered clumps of vegetation grow.
