description
Seated portrait of Muhammad al Auf, one of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin companions, in a camp between Khaur Sabkha well and Khaba well in the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali). Muhammad al Auf, a tribesman of the Bayt Mbarik lineage of the Rashid Bedouin, sits cross-legged on the ground. He holds a piece of cloth in front of his chest with both hands.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
