View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through Al Batin sands during their journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) from Al Dhafra sands to Liwa oasis. In the foreground tracks from Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party mark the sand. Members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, lead a group of camels down a far dune. In the distance before them is a salt flat (sabkha) and a ridge of high, sheer-faced dunes.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
