Description
View of two of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin companions on a sand hill in the Al Ain/Buraimi oasis overlooking Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit]. Two men, one standing and one seated, pose on a sand hill in a vast flat plain. The ground surrounding the hill is carpeted with sparse grass and tufts of vegetation. In the background is a large tree. Behind the tree the mountain Jabal Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] looms in the distance. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
