View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking across a sand dune between oases in Liwa oasis. Footprints lead from the near left to the central foreground where three of Wilfred Thesiger's Rashid Bedouin companions walk down a steeply sloping sand dune. Three tied camels follow along behind the men. In the right distance a fourth member of the party walks with his camel around a large hollow between dunes. Beyond an oasis of lush vegetation sits in a depression behind a further dune. In the far distance beyond sand dunes rise along the horizon below a hazy sky. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
