View of two members of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party men preparing coffee in the Al Khatam sands near Al Ain. In the left foreground an Arab falconer from Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party sits in the sand beside a coffee urn and a kettle. He wears a ghutra (headscarf) and a thobe (long shirt) topped with a cartridge belt and leather suspenders. Beside him a man wearing a thobe topped with a cartridge belt and a taqiyah cap sits surrounded by coffee paraphernalia. In the background behind them, a man is bent over next to some sheep grazing on a large bush. This image was taken between December 20, 1948, and January 27, 1949, during which time Wilfred Thesiger stayed with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Al Ain and joined him on a number of hunting excursions.
