Description
Portrait of a Bedouin man, possibly a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, in Al Muwaiji near Al Muwaiji Fort in Al Ain oasis. The man sits cross-legged in the sand facing forward. He wears a plain thobe (shirt) and a large embroidered headscarf topped with an 'agal (head rope) that hangs down over his shoulder. In the left background another man leans into the frame. In the distance beyond a large expanse of flat sand runs to the far horizon.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
