View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party riding through Al Batin sands during their journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) from Al Dhafra sands to Liwa oasis. Two members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, ride camels across a wide, mostly bare, sand plain. Each man is followed by a baggage camel tethered to his mount. They are walking towards a bush. The sand in the foreground is marked with small wave patterns. In the far distance a low ridge of dunes sits at the horizon.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
