Description

View of two members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party in Al Dhafra sands during the party's journey to Baynunah. In the centre distance two of Wilfred Thesiger's Rashid Bedouin companions sit on their camels in stretch of flat sand in front of a dune. One of the camels is grazing on a large bush. In the distance beyond the men, rolling dunes dotted with clumps of vegetation continue into the far distance. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
