Description
View of a member of Wilfred Thesiger's party at the watchtower at Al Maqta, the stretch of water that separates Abu Dhabi Island from the mainland. One of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, stands on the shore in the foreground leaning on a camel stick. A large expanse of water fills the area behind him, surrounding a round stone watchtower. In the far background at the right are a number of large rocky outcroppings.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
