Half length semi-profile portrait of Salim bin Kabina, one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, sitting in camp north of Al Ain during the party's journey from Al Ain to Ramlat Unayq. Salim bin Kabina, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, half-kneels in the sand, resting his right hand in his lap. He wears a silver khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt over his thobe (long shirt). Two leather bandoliers cross his chest and attach to the belt.
