Description
Seated portrait of Muhammad al Auf, one of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin companions, in a camp between Khaur Sabkha well and Khaba well in the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali). Muhammad al Auf, a tribesman of the Bayt Mbarik lineage of the Rashid Bedouin, sits cross-legged, holding a needle and thread in his hands. Several bundles of cloth lie in front of him.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
