Description

Seated portrait of Wilfred Thesiger and Salim bin Kabina at the southern end of Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet), near Al Qabil. Wilfred Thesiger (left) and Salim bin Kabina (right), a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, kneel in pebbly ground. Each holds a rifle and each wears a cartridge belt with suspenders over their thobe (shirt). In the background the limestone cliffs of Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet) rise in the distance.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
