description
Full length group portrait of eight men, retainers of Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan, standing in a line outside Qasr Al Hosn fort in Abu Dhabi. All of the eight retainers stand facing forward, each holding a rifle or a camel stick in front of himself. Behind the men an 'arish hut and a number of buildings can be seen in the background. When this picture was taken Qasr Al Hosn fort was the home of Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan, then ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (1928-1966).

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
