View of two members of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party men preparing coffee in the Al Khatam sands near Al Ain. In the left foreground an Arab falconer from Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party sits close to a fire, surrounded by coffee paraphernalia. He is wearing a ghutra (headscarf) and a thobe (long shirt) topped with a cartridge belt and leather suspenders, and is holding a lit twig near the fire. Behind him a second man sits behind the fire in front of a large bush. He wears a thobe topped with a cartridge belt and a taqiyah cap. Behind them, on the left, a sheep grazes on a large bush. This image was taken between December 20, 1948, and January 27, 1949, during which time Wilfred Thesiger stayed with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Al Ain and joined him on a number of hunting excursions.
