View of one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides standing on a rock outcrop below Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] mountain. In the right foreground a man in an izaar (wraparound skirt), and ghutra (headscarf) stands on low ridge of rock, looking towards the high rock cliffs of Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit]. A flat dotted with sparse vegetation sits behind the ridge, below high cliffs. The limestone cliffs slope across the far distance from high on the left to low on the right. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.
