View of a Bani Yas date palm grove and settlement near Radum in Liwa oasis. In the foreground a number of young date palms grow on a sand flat alongside small salt bushes. Just behind a small ridge larger, established date palms grow in rows. In the distance beyond the flat two groups of 'arish huts, made of saaf (palm fronds), sit on the slope of a high dune. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
