Description

View of Salim bin Kabina, a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, in Al Humrah sands during the party's journey to Umm az Zumul. On the left Salim bin Kabina, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, stands on the slope of a near sand dune, facing towards the foreground. The dune is dotted with a few tufts of vegetation and rippled with waves of secondary dunes. In the distance beyond more vegetation grows in a depression between he dunes in the right background, and in the far distance the rolling downs continue across to the horizon below a hazy sky.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
