Description
Half length portrait of Salim bin Ghabaisha, one of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin companions, in Ras Al Khaimah Emirate. Salim bin Ghabaisha, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of the Rashid Bedouin, stands facing forward. He wears a khanjar (dagger) with a cartridge belt and suspenders over his thobe (long shirt), and his long hair hangs down around his shoulders beneath his headscarf. There is a large dark spot over much of bin Ghabaisha's face.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
