Description

Full length standing portrait of a nakhoda at Dubai Creek. An older man with a grey beard stands on a wall in front of Dubai Creek. He is a nakhoda (captain) of a dhow (sailboat) in Dubai. He wears leather sandals on his feet and a light coloured waistcoat over his thobe (long shirt). Behind him two young boys play in the sand beside two beached dhow. In the far distance one and two storey houses sit along the opposite bank.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
