Description
Half length portrait of two Arab men in front of a rock wall in Dubai. The young man on the left wears a light coloured waistcoat over his thobe (ankle-length shirt), and the handle of a khanjar (dagger) is visible at his waist. The man on the right wears a dark waistcoat over his thobe, and holds a folded bisht (robe) over his shoulder. Each man also wears a ghutra (headscarf). This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 10-18, 1948 stay in Sharjah and Dubai.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
