Description
Seated group portrait of three of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's Bedouin retainers in Al Ain. The two men on the left wear light coloured thobes (long shirts) and headscarves (ghutra), and both hold camels sticks. The man on the right wears a headscarf (ghutra) and a dark thobe (long shirt), and holds a camel stick and a rifle. Behind the men the background is bare and flat. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
