View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through Al Dhafra sands during their journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) from Dhibi well to Al Batin sands. Two of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, ride their mounts across the crest of low dune. Behind each man's mount baggage camels follow on leads. The sand in the foreground is marked with small ripples and ridges. In the background long parallel lines of dunes stretch into the far distance, and a second line of dunes can be seen at the far right.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
