Description

View of Wilfred Thesiger's party trekking across dunes in Al Humrah sands during their journey to Umm az Zumul. In the central foreground a dry bare tree grows in a depression between sand dunes. Further beyond, on the left, tracks run across the sand to where three of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin companions ride in a line between rolling sand dunes, heading behind a large dune on the right. Each man's mount is followed by one or two baggage camels. In the far distance beyond rolling sand dunes stretch out along the horizon below a cloudless sky.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
