Upper body group portrait of three bearded Bedouin men outside Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain. Each of the three men wears a thobe (long shirt) and a headscarf (ghutra) topped with agal (head ropes). Two men stand in the foreground, and a third man stands just behind. The shoulder of a forth man can be seen at the far right edge. In the background are the walls of Al Muwaiji fort. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
