View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through Al Dhafra sands during their journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) from Dhibi well to Al Batin sands. Two of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, ride their mounts across a flat area between dunes. The nearer man holds a camel stick in his hand. Behind each man's mount baggage camels follow on leads. In the background a long continuous dune stretches into the far distance.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
