View of a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party sitting on the crest of a sand dune in the Ramlat al Ghirbaniyat (Ghirbaniyat Sands). The man is looking through binoculars into the far right distance. Rifles stand muzzle-first in the sand beside him. In the distance scattered dots of vegetation grow on the sand dunes.
