Description

Profile view of dhows (sailboats) moored in the Persian Gulf near Bahrain Island. Four large dhows, some with two masts, are moored in calm water rippled by gentle waves. The bows of the dhows point towards the right. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18-28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai to Bahrain Island.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
