View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through Al Batin sands near Liwa during their journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali). Two members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, lead camels across a flat area of bare sand in front of a low, wind-rippled dune. In the foreground one man leads his camel on foot. He is holding a camel stick in his right hand. Beside him another man sits in a sideways posture on his camel. A baggage camel walks on a lead behind him. In the far distance a large sand dune with deep ridges rises into the horizon.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
