Half-length group portrait of three Bedouin men, retainers of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, outside Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain. Each of the three men wears a thobe (long shirt) and a headscarf (ghutra). The man at the centre wears his headscarf hanging down over his shoulders, and has a bandolier over his thobe. At the far right the walls of Al Muwaiji fort can be seen. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
