Description
View of a crowd of men waiting at the entrance to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's Al Muwaiji fort. A number of men holding rifles sit in the shade under an archway entrance to Al Muwaiji fort. Three men stand behind the crowd, two on the left side of the entrance and one on the right side. In the background a man walks under a tree inside the fort's courtyard. In the far left background is a second archway in which another person can be seen standing. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
