Portrait of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party gathering water from a well at the southern end of Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet). In the foreground four men stand around the well. Hamad [also known as Hamad al Mahri], a tribesman of the Mahra Bedouin, stands in the foreground at the centre of the well (second from the right). Muhammad bin Al Jabari, a tribesman of the Awamir Bedouin, stands beside Hamad in the well (right). In the background two men and a camel stand behind the well
