Description

View of limestone cliffs on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] mountain. Two walls of limestone meet in a ravine in the central foreground. The near cliffs are in shadow, while the far ridge is brightened by the sun. In the far left distance a vast flat plain dotted with vegetation is visible behind the ridge. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
