View of one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides in a valley on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] mountain. A man wearing a thobe (long shirt) and ghutra (headscarf) stands on a rock beside a dry riverbed in a rocky valley. In the background limestone walls rise on either side of the narrow valley. Mostly leafless shrubs grow amongst the large rocks scattered over the valley floor. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.
